Update On Mort's Condition

He is slowly recovering. He is now in his third medical facility – a subacute rehab. where he is working to get back on his feet (with the help of a walker). He is sadly also dealing with other serious medical problems. He is no longer a regular computer user, but from time to time checks his email. We would like to wish all of his regular readers a happy healthy holiday season.

  2. I should have read this before sending my e-mail. Now I know that you are still in New Jersey, Mort.

I am so sorry that you are having to endure this pain. I have a smattering of what you are going through, but my injury was not nearly as severe as yours. Let me just say, I know you are not having fun.

I am sending healing thoughts your way and hope you are soon feeling much better. We miss your blog and hope to see your name on a post soon.

Take very good care, mind the doctors and don't flirt with those pretty nurses or I'll tell Sybil.

  3. It is so good to have this update, as you have been on my mind, Mort. I just hate thinking about you struggling back to health and wish it could be an easier road for you. Please know that I miss your writing in your blog very much. It's not the same without you so please continue toward wellness.

My husband and I wish you and your family happy holidays and I wonder if you have heard the new Hanukkah song penned by Orrin Hatch (of all people!)? It was featured on an NPR piece and is available for viewing on the web. Maybe your daughter can access it for you.

  6. I am still praying for Mort's recovery.

I await his views on the latest developments in what seems to be a deterioration in the relationship between the US and Israel. C'mon Mort! Let's get your opinion!

  8. Dear Mort,
We had a brief e-mail exchange concerning our common interest in the Sivin name some years ago and from time to time I am in touch with your nephew. I was so sorry to hear about your accident. I send all good wishes to you for a complete recovery.

    Regards,
    Helaine
